Description

Alec Albert Way was born on 7 Nov 1894 in Hammersmith, London and worked as a Fitter's Mate. Enlisting on 7 Nov 1912, he served aboard HMS Vengeance and HMS Severn amongst others during WWI. His son, Robert Alec Way on 26 April 1919 at St. Marylebone, London with his trade listed as 'Wood Worker'. Volunteering for service on 24 July 1934, he served aboard HMS Renown from 6 Mar 1936, HMS Valiant from 13 May 1936 and HMS Queen Elizabeth from 12 Dec 1936 and various shore establishments during WWII.
