Description

Arthur James Westlake was born in Kensington, Middlesex and enlisted with the 1st Battalion, Dorsetshire Regiment at Hounslow on 11 Nov 1908, transferring to the Duke of Cambridge's Own Middlesex Regiment with and being posted to Guernsey on 1 Feb 1909, Allahabad 1 Oct 1910 and Darjeeling in Nov 1911. Serving as a Lance Corporal on the outbreak of WWI, Westlake entered France on 11 Aug 1914 and was Killed In Action at Le Maisnil on 21 Oct 1914 and is buried at Le Trou Aid Post Cemetery.
