NAVAL GENERAL SERVICE MEDAL WITH ST SEBASTIAN CLASP TO JOHN WALSWORTH

John Wallsworth served as Boy in H.M.S. Revolutionnaire. Provenance: The collection of John Kermack Ford Esq., sold by Sothebys, Wilkinson & Hodge, 12 June 1884, lot 1082; Glendining & Co, 22 April 1949.

On 27 Aug 1813, Revolutionnaire was part of a squadron under Captain Sir George Collier who attacked the island of Santa Clara in the mouth of the harbour of Saint Sebastian, providing seaman to man a battery of 24-pounder guns from Surveillante hauled up to the peak of the island.
