Robert Ernest Jacobs was born in Pimlico, London and attested for the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry on 2 May 1900, entitled to the Queen's South Africa Medal with all 5 clasps, entering France with the D.C.L.I. on 3 Dec 1914, transferring to the Labour Corps until discharge on6 June 1918.
