Rowland Chesters was born in Little Drayton, Salop and lived in Market Drayton, enlisting at Shrewsbury and serving with the 14th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers, entitled to the pair of War & Victory Medals. He Died of Wounds on 21 Oct 1918, buried at Awoingt British Cemetery.
